Why is a two-year-old warehouse already shutting down?
Brooklyn Storehouse never pretended to be permanent. When TCE Presents, the promoter behind Teksupport, and the UK's Broadwick Live opened the 100,000-plus-square-foot room inside Building 293 of the Brooklyn Navy Yard in June 2024, they called it a "meanwhile project": a creative reuse of an empty industrial shell while the Navy Yard worked out what it actually wanted to do with the building. In May 2026, the Navy Yard Development Corporation answered that question. It is converting the site for climate infrastructure and clean energy production, and Brooklyn Storehouse's tenancy, in the operators' own words, "was always time-limited."
It is the second time Broadwick Live has lost a warehouse this way. The company's best-known project, London's Printworks, closed in 2022 after six years so its site could be redeveloped into offices, and a reopening inside the new building isn't expected before 2029. Two years was always going to be a shorter run than that, but the ending reads the same: a beloved room traded for a building's "higher" use.
What did CircoLoco book for the send-off?
For the final weekend, Brooklyn Storehouse handed the keys to CircoLoco, the Ibiza brand that spent three decades turning a Sunday party at DC10 into one of house music's most trusted names on tour. Friday, October 30, runs &ME, Beltran, Carlita, Konstantin, MAP.ACHE, Mochakk, Rampa and Seth Troxler from 10pm to 5am, and it sold out before the weekend even started. Saturday, October 31, closes the room for good with Aline Umber, ANOTR, Jamback, Jimi Jules, KRL, Rossi and Dixon.
"Was always time-limited."
That's the line the operators used to explain the closure, and it says more about Brooklyn's warehouse scene than any press release intended to. In its two years, Brooklyn Storehouse hosted Carl Cox, Marco Carola, CamelPhat and Four Tet, proving a 5,000-capacity underground room could sell out in a city most promoters had written off for anything bigger than a mid-size club. None of that bought it a longer lease.
