DJ Mag's Top 100 DJs 2026 poll closed its ballot on September 16 at 23:59 GMT, and the world finds out who topped it live from the stage at [UNVRS] Ibiza on October 6. It's the second year running DJ Mag has taken its biggest night to the same room, and the pairing says more about the state of the vote than any press release does.
What's happening on October 6?
DJ Mag reveals the World's No.1 DJ on stage at [UNVRS] on Tuesday, October 6, backed by sets from Lost Frequencies, Charlotte de Witte, GORDO, Vintage Culture, ANASTAZJA and Korolova. The newly-crowned No.1 gets a closing slot of their own. Alongside the headline award, DJ Mag hands out World's No.1 Techno DJ, World's No.1 House DJ, World's No.1 Trance DJ, World's No.1 Hard DJ and World's No.1 DJ Group, plus Highest New Entry, Highest Climber, Future Star and Outstanding Contribution.
Why does the reveal keep coming back to [UNVRS]?
Because [UNVRS] earned it on its own poll. DJ Mag's readers voted the Night League's Ibiza hyperclub the World's No.1 Club for 2026 this past April, less than a year after it opened its doors in May 2025, ahead of stablemates Ushuaïa and Hï Ibiza.
"It was conceived as a long-term vision to explore new possibilities in music, technology and human connection." , Yann Pissenem, [UNVRS] CEO
That club poll runs on the same kind of open public vote as the DJs poll, and its top places have gone for years to rooms built around house and techno programming, not EDM mainstages. UNVRS's own booking sheet leans the same way, with Carl Cox, Jamie Jones, Joseph Capriati and the Martinez Brothers all playing its first season.
Can a techno or house DJ actually win the top spot?
Not yet, and 2025 showed exactly why. Charlotte de Witte took World's No.1 Techno DJ for the sixth year running and cracked the overall top 10 for the first time, landing at No.9, still her career-best. The overall crown went to David Guetta for a fifth time, tying him with Martin Garrix and Armin van Buuren as the only DJs to top the poll five times. Both results point the same way: the mass public vote still rewards festival-mainstage pop-dance over the club sound that fills the room the results get read out in.
