Why does this residency read like a homecoming?
Because Joseph Capriati built his career in the room he is now headlining. The DJ from Caserta, just outside Naples, bought his first console at eleven and got hit by techno at a Naples all-nighter back in 2003. But the break came at Amnesia: in the summer of 2012 he played six sets in the club's main room for Marco Carola's Music On, then came back in 2013 as a full-season resident. Those nights turned a respected Italian techno name into an international one, and pushed him into Resident Advisor's Top 100 for the first time. In 2026 he takes the same room for himself, every Tuesday, under his own banner.
What exactly is Metamorfosi in 2026?
Metamorfosi is Capriati's own party, and it runs at Amnesia from 30 June to 29 September, 14 consecutive Tuesdays, the longest residency of his career. It uses both of the club's rooms, the Main Room and the open-roofed Terrace, each with its own sound. Capriati has framed the season around clubbing itself, the floor, the sound and the long set, rather than the LED-and-production spectacle that has taken over so much of Ibiza's high end. "Metamorfosi was born for Ibiza's dancefloor, for the island's crowd," he said of the move.
Why does the timing matter?
2026 is Amnesia's 50th anniversary, and Capriati is not shy about the symbolism. "This is the new chapter of the project, and it is no coincidence that it arrives in the year of this legendary club's 50th anniversary," he said. He opens the season's story on 9 May at the club's opening party, alongside Seth Troxler, Josh Baker, Max Dean and Ceri, before the Tuesday run begins. The guest list is deep: Richie Hawtin, Ben Klock, Jamie Jones, Chris Stussy, Maceo Plex, Dubfire, Damian Lazarus, BLOND:ISH, Anfisa Letyago, Fatima Hajji and Traumer, alongside younger names like Adiel, Alarico and Quest.
The kid who once warmed up someone else's night in this room now owns the Tuesday.
