Who holds the record for the longest DJ set ever?
The official Guinness World Record for the longest marathon club DJ set belongs to Italy's Faber Moreira, real name Fabrizio Morero, who played for 244 hours and 2 minutes, just over ten days, in Saluzzo, Italy, from 15 to 26 May 2024. It beat the previous ratified mark by some 44 hours. A bigger number may already exist: Nigeria's DJ Pretty Play played roughly 300 hours over twelve days in March 2026, and is waiting on Guinness to make it official.
What are the five longest DJ marathons of all time?
1. Faber Moreira, 244h02m (Saluzzo, Italy, 2024). The current Guinness holder, and the first to push the club-DJ record past the ten-day line.
2. DJ Obi, 240h / 10 days (Lagos, Nigeria, 2016). Obi Ajuonuma turned a Lagos cafe into a ten-day endurance feat that became national news and launched his Obi's House brand. For years it was the run everyone cited.
3. Norberto Loco, 200h (Dublin, Ireland, 2014). Polish-born Norbert Selmaj spun for more than eight days at The Underground in Dublin, the benchmark a generation of challengers chased.
4. Smokin' Joe Mekhael, 168h / 7 days (Australia, 2012). A full week behind the decks, part of a wave of Australian endurance attempts in the early 2010s.
5. DJ Hertz, 152h (Australia, 2012). Another marathon from the same scene and year, proof of how fast the bar was rising before Lagos and Italy took it global.
So is a ten-day set actually DJing?
The honest answer: these are endurance records, not musical ones. The Guinness rules, five minutes of rest banked per hour, a dancer on the floor at all times, no repeating a track within four hours, reward stamina, not taste. The long sets DJs themselves revere are a different animal: the open-to-close marathon where one artist shapes an entire night. At Romania's Sunwaves festival, tINI has gone around 31 hours and Dubfire about 26.5; Joseph Capriati played 25 hours solo in Miami in 2017; Ricardo Villalobos built half his legend on sets that simply refuse to end. Those are judged on storytelling across a dancefloor. Pick your definition of 'longest' and you pick a different hero.
