Why did Noisia actually split up?
Groningen's Noisia, Nik Roos, Thijs de Vlieger and Martijn van Sonderen, didn't fade out the way most acts do. In 2019 they announced, in explicit terms, that they were ending the group. They then ran out the string properly: a farewell campaign that closed with a final show at Lowlands festival in August 2022. That's rare in dance music, a defined ending with a real last gig, not a slow disappearance dressed up as a hiatus.
What changed to bring them back together?
The trio kept a shared studio space in Groningen running through the whole seven-year gap, even while pursuing separate solo projects. That studio, per DJ Mag and Resident Advisor, is where the reconnection actually happened: proximity and unstructured time in the same room, not a label-brokered reunion tour. New material is already in development, alongside the catalogue tracks fans will hear live.
What happens on December 4 and after?
Noisia's return show lands at Melkweg in Amsterdam on December 4, 2026, their first appearance since the 2022 farewell. Presale tickets open September 23, with general sale following on September 25. Melkweg is a mid-size room by the standards of a band that used to headline festival mainstages, which reads less like a victory-lap arena run and more like a band testing whether the collaboration still works before committing further.
