What exactly did UNTOLD change?
On July 26, 2026, UNTOLD Festival pulled the cover off its new main stage: a gold, wing-shaped structure wrapped in LED screens, built for a festival that no longer wants to be read as just another edition. The reveal doubled as the unveiling of a new name, UNTOLD ONE, the tag the Cluj-Napoca event is putting on its 2026 run from August 6 to 9.
Why rebrand after 11 years?
A name change after over a decade is not cosmetic. Per Rave Jungle, the move is a deliberate repositioning after UNTOLD's 11-year run, one that comes with a genre net stretched wider than before: techno and house now sit on the same bill as trance, drum & bass, dubstep, pop, hip-hop and rock. That is the real story behind the gold stage: UNTOLD wants to stop being described as a techno-and-house festival with pop guests, and start being described as something bigger it controls the definition of.
Does the underground crowd still have a reason to show up?
The 2026 bill runs past 200 artists across 8 stages, and the names that matter to house and techno heads are still there: Carl Cox, Solomun and Jamie Jones all play. But they now share top billing with Marshmello, the clearest sign of how far the genre net has been cast for UNTOLD ONE. Whether that dilutes the room or just grows it is the argument this rebrand is picking.
