House Music History: Africa
Egypt's Halim El-Dabh, Cameroon's Francis Bebey and Nigeria's William Onyeabor were building electronic music from tape, synths and drum machines as early as the 1940s, work that placed Africa at the root of house music's own electronic lineage.
