Why did it take a decade for a debut album?

Amelie Lens has spent ten years as one of techno's most in-demand touring names, running her own label EXHALE Records and headlining from Ibiza to Tomorrowland, but she had never put out a full album. That changes with AURA, her debut studio LP, released September 4, 2026 on EXHALE: eleven tracks she wrote, produced and mostly sang herself.

What's actually on AURA?

Across those eleven tracks there's only one guest: fellow Belgian artist Angèle, on "run," where peak-time techno meets contemporary pop. Everywhere else it's Lens alone, her own voice pushed to the front of songs that reach for something more cinematic and raw than the club tools she built her name on. The record is out physically as a gatefold double 12" in blue and white vinyl, alongside the usual streaming and download formats.

She first announced the album back on May 21, calling it, per Resident Advisor, "the most honest version of myself."

"The most honest version of myself."

Why did the Tomorrowland preview matter?

Lens didn't just drop AURA and move on. She built an entire set around the album for the Freedom Stage at Tomorrowland 2026 and played it visibly pregnant, a rare sight in a touring culture that offers almost no playbook for combining the road with pregnancy. Beatport named her Artist of the Month for September, the same month the record landed.
