Why does a debut album matter this late in Cloonee's career?
Cloonee has spent more than ten years as one of tech house's most dependable hitmakers, the kind of producer whose club records and DJ tools show up in sets across the genre without anyone needing to check the credits. He has never put out a full album. That absence is normal in a scene built on singles, EPs and functional club records made to be mixed, not sat with front to back. An album commits an artist to a statement, and statements are exactly what a genre optimized for peak-time utility tends to avoid.
That makes "Are You Still You?" the real test of that kind for Cloonee: a 16-track project arriving October 6, 2026 via his own label, Hellbent Records, in partnership with Good Music For Bad People.
What is Cloonee actually saying with this record?
The title is not incidental. Cloonee has described the album as growing out of a split he hears from fans: some want the older sound that built his name, others are pushing him toward where he is heading next, and plenty just want whatever he happens to be making right now. Rather than picking a side, he is framing "Are You Still You?" as, in his words, an ode to himself, covering the old, the current and the new version of his sound across all 16 tracks.
The album's first preview already answered part of that question in the DJ booth. "Good Girl," a collaboration with fellow UK duo Prospa and vocalist Tristan Henry, hit number one on Beatport within days of release, the second Beatport chart-topper for Cloonee and Prospa in 2026 after "Free Your Mind."
Where does the album go before its release date?
Cloonee is not waiting until October to put the material in front of crowds. He is set to perform unreleased tracks from "Are You Still You?" live at ARC Music Festival in Chicago, North Coast Music Festival and III Points in Miami, turning the festival stage into the album's testing ground before it officially arrives.
