Who actually made Inner Visions?

Sixteen Zimbabwean DJs and producers appear on Inner Visions, a compilation curated by Dr Feel and set for release on November 27, 2026 through the South African label Mansa Musa. The lineup: DJ Stavo, Nitefreak, Dr Chaii, Ryan Synth, MIčI, Reverb, TAPIWA, Simbai, Tashinga, Shona, PA NGU, Afro Wav, Takue SBT, Josh Major, Daphfinee and Taarof Adder. Ahead of the full release, two tracks have already surfaced in Zimbabwean music press: Ryan Synth and Dr Feel's "Lele," and DJ Stavo and Victoria Kimani's "Joy."

Why is a producer, not a market, curating this story?

Dr Feel has built his own catalogue from Johannesburg: more than 200 singles, over 10 EPs, and two full albums, Made in Africa and Indalo. He has played rooms from London to Dubai to Amsterdam, and counts Black Coffee and Keinemusik among the names publicly backing his work. That is exactly the kind of resume outside labels usually use to pluck one name out of a scene and sell it as the whole story. Dr Feel used it instead to pull fifteen other Zimbabwean artists into frame with him.

"Inner Visions is about looking inward before you look outward. This is Zimbabwean Afro House, told by the people making it."

What's actually at stake here?

Afro House's rise onto festival mainstages and major playlists has mostly been told through a handful of breakout names, most of them South African. Zimbabwe's producers have fed that sound for years without the same visibility or booking fees. Inner Visions is a direct attempt to change who gets credited and who gets paid as the genre keeps expanding abroad: not a request for outside curators to notice Zimbabwe, but a label-backed release designed to put sixteen names and one country's whole scene directly in front of international buyers at once. "I wanted the world to hear Zimbabwe the way I hear it," Dr Feel said.
