Why Is a Serious New Room Betting on the Arts District Right Now?
ORIGIN is set to open late summer or early autumn 2026 at 613 Imperial Street, the former home of LOT 613 in Downtown LA's Arts District. The founders are calling it a "purpose-built, music-first space," a phrase that carries more weight in Los Angeles than most cities: the market has spent years cycling promoters and pop-ups through rooms that were never built for a serious sound system in the first place, then losing them to noise complaints, permitting fights or rent hikes. Committing real capital to a custom rig and a name architect before a single ticket goes on sale is a bet that the Arts District can hold a fixture, not just another season's flavor.

Who's Behind It?
Roni Mehrabian and Cyril Bitar are the founders, building on a track record that includes SBCLTR, Minimal Effort, the LA edition of Brunch Electronik, The Maze and Resolution. Sound and visual design comes from Marc Dizon, whose past credits include Brooklyn Mirage and Output in New York, Hakkasan in Las Vegas and Sound in LA. The venue runs a custom analog KV2 Audio system indoors, with a separate rig built for its outdoor space.
What Will Actually Play There?
Fridays lean toward live bookings, both top-tier and independent electronic acts, described as "more forward-thinking programming." Saturdays alternate between daytime outdoor events and late-night house and techno sessions. Beyond that, ORIGIN plans club nights, live concerts, promoter partnerships, private events and cultural activations across its indoor and outdoor spaces.
