Amsterdam Dance Event marks its 30th edition on October 21-25 by opening with Jean-Michel Jarre performing Oxygene in full, while the rest of the programme leans harder than ever into classical and ballet crossover alongside its usual wall of club nights.
France's electronic music runs on one unbroken lineage: Pierre Schaeffer spliced train recordings into music on state radio in 1948, the studio he built trained Jean-Michel Jarre, and by the 1990s the same country was exporting Laurent Garnier's techno and Daft Punk's French Touch to the rest of the world.
References to two unannounced Behringer clones, a Korg Mini Pops 7 style rhythm box and a Yamaha CS-80 inspired CS Mini synth, have surfaced inside the company's own Synthtribe software before any official announcement.
Jean-Michel Jarre commissioned French boutique builder Pierre Jean Tardiveau to hand-build a one-of-a-kind, four-voice hybrid synthesizer called the JARRE Lab One, with a possible consumer version still years away.
Fifty years into a touring career built on monument-scale spectacles, Jean-Michel Jarre played his first-ever Ibiza show on July 5 on Amnesia's Terrace, the same year the club and his breakthrough album Oxygene each turn fifty.
ADE unveiled the first wave for its 30th edition, running 21 to 25 October 2026: more than 250 artists, Jean-Michel Jarre as guest of honour, and the Gashouder back, on the way to 3,000-plus acts across 200-plus venues.
