Spotify has signed its third AI-remix licensing deal in three months, with independent publisher Kobalt, completing a trilogy with UMG and Merlin, but none of the three announcements say how an individual songwriter actually opts in or out.
Udio's licensed app Starstruck lets fans cover, remix and rewrite opted-in artists inside a closed environment, with no export to Spotify and, per Kobalt, songwriters paid well above the usual streaming rate.
